Start an Investigation Phase

Steps

1. Open the case
2. Navigate to Phases module
3. Click New Phase
4. Select phase type:
   • Initial Response
   • Ongoing Investigation
   • Surveillance Operation
   • Apprehension
   • Post-Arrest
5. Set start date/time
6. Enter briefing notes and game plan
7. Click Create Phase

Add Assignments

1. In the phase detail view, click Add Assignment
2. Select officer
3. Choose assignment type:
   • Scene Processing
   • Witness Interview
   • Area Canvass
   • Surveillance
   • Warrant Writing
   • Hospital Follow-up
   • Crime Analysis
4. Enter description and location
5. Click Assign

Complete the Cycle

1. When fieldwork completes, click Start Debrief
2. Have each officer record their findings
3. Click Complete Debrief
4. Enter reassessment notes
5. Click Complete Phase
